We provide this service for all customers regardless of the service requested. If you are buying a used pool table and need help steering clear of making mistakes we can help you.

Metro Billiards Service offers a complete inspection service with every pool table we work on. Everytime somebody works on your pool table, things are subject to go wrong. We want to find and fix those problems to save you time, money, frustration and most of all to protect your investment.
(minor on site fixes are done at no additional charge.)

Our Tru Table Inspection is also very valuable for those buying a used pool table. We do our inspection for free, on site, when we move a pool table for you. For a minimal charge, we can meet you during the buying process to grade a pool table prior to making your purchase.

What are the most common problems we see
Most of the pool tables we inspect grade well. The area where we see the most damage coming from is caused by flooring and moving companies moving a pool table without disassembling it.

We see a lot of inexperienced technicians overtightening and stripping out hardware used to properly install the pool table.

Most often, Pool and Spa companies not understanding and in some cases not even bothering to properly level a pool table.


Here is our inspection process:

Legs-
A pool table's legs are the foundation of stability for the entire structure. We will inspect each leg of the pool table checking for cracks, loose components, and presence of all hardware needed for the leg assembly.

Cabinet-
A pool table's cabinet can be manufactured utilizing different designs as well as being made of a number of different materials. This can vary for the style and manufacturer of the pool table you own. We will inspect each component of the pool table's cabinet checking for cracks, loose components and presence of all hardware needed for correct assembly.

Slate-
The slate surface on a pool table is key to the quality of play. We will inspect the slate surface of the pool table looking for cracks, warping, scratches and loose backing components.

Rails-
The rails on a pool table, like the slate, are also responsible for the quality of play. We will inspect each rail for cracking, warping, loose components and presence of all hardware needed for correct assembly.

Cushions-
The cushions on a pool table are vital for consistent play. We will inspect the pool table's cushions for consistency, ball hop or drag, hardening and detachment from the rail.

Pockets-
Pockets on a pool table are designed to hold the balls when not being used in play. We will inspect each of the pool table's pockets for tightness, ability to hold pool balls and presence of all hardware for correct assembly.

Cloth-
The cloth surface of the pool table must be installed tightly and free of wrinkles to perform correctly. We will inspect the cloth surface on the pool table, both bed and rails, for holes, tears, tightness and wrinkles caused by incorrect installation.

Level-
The level of a pool table is obviously very important for quality play. We will inspect the pool table's level checking for any areas on the slate surface that may be out of level.
